NEWS: Roddy White and Doug Martin both inactive for Week 3; Bobby Rainey a RB1 this week and Harry Douglas a sneaky fantasy WR3?

SMITTY: Bobby Rainey is a fantasy RB1 against a Falcons rushing defense that gives up over 150 rushing yards per game and has surrendered 5TDs through the first two weeks. Get Roddy White out of your line-up, and consider Harry Douglas as a spot play this week if you’re in need. Even if you don’t own White, Douglas is a sneaky start if desperate at your fantasy WR3. Julio Jones owners better get ready for a big Week 3! Looking for Week 3 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Roddy White (hamstring) is likely going to sit out his Week 3 Thursday night contest against Bucs.

SMITTY: This report is from PFT, and it’s suggesting he is likely out. Clearly check back, and sign up for our Smart Alerts in order to get real-time updates on this, but White owners should start getting an alternative plan in place right now. Looking for Week 3 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Eric Decker looking likely to play in Week 3?

SMITTY: Despite the hamstring issue, it looks like Eric Decker is on pace to play during Monday night’s Week 1 battle against the Bears. The problem here is that the game is on Monday night, so you may have to make a decision on Sunday. This is when our Smart Alerts come in handy, as well as our Week 3 Power Rankings, as our rankings might have one of your bench guys scoring more than Decker anyway. The Bears are currently 10th against the pass through two weeks, so this isn’t a great match-up for Geno Smith and Decker, but as always, anything can happen on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays, and really it boils down to your alternatives, which is why our Forums are so valuable! Get on there and talk about your lineup dilemmas!

NEWS: Josh Gordon suspended for 10 games!

According to reports, Browns WR Josh Gordon will miss 10 games under the terms of the NFL’s new drug policy.

SMITTY: He missed one game already, and the team has a Week 4 bye, so that puts his return in Week 12. Congrats to all who collected this guy on roster after roster this August, it was something we pushed hard with Smart Alerts and breaking news posts, and despite it not being just a half-season ban, playing Weeks 12-16 is a monster bonus for those that own the stud. Buying low in dynasty was also a huge deal, so nice work there as well if you stole him away in the panic.

NEWS: Josh Gordon looking at 8-game ban?

According to Adam Schefter on Twitter, Browns WR Josh Gordon (suspended) is expected to be looking at an 8-game ban after a new drug policy is approved as early as this afternoon.

SMITTY: This would be fantastic for those who scooped up Josh Gordon late in drafts like we’ve been recommending for weeks. He should no longer be available in any leagues, right? We have been sending out Smart Alerts on this all week, that he needed to be grabbed if available on waivers. We will let you know once/if this becomes official. Look for Wes Welker to see his suspension fully reduced — We should know more shortly, stay tuned.

NEWS: Antonio Brown exits Thursday’s Week 2 game; Brown to return to action.

After taking a shot in the first quarter, Antonio Brown (head) appears fine and ready to return to action here in the middle of the second quarter.

SMITTY: Great news. Brown was in the locker room for a bit, but the league is taking extra steps to ensure players are not going back into games with concussion-like symptoms. Be sure to sign-up for our Smart Alerts if you want news like this emailed to your or sent to you via text.

NEWS: Inactives for Thursday Night Week 2: Ravens-Steelers

Inactives for the Ravens: WR Deonte Thompson, WR Michael Campanaro

Inactives for the Steelers: WR Martavis Bryant, WR Lance Moore, RB/KR Dri Archer, QB Landry Jones

NEWS: Josh Gordon could see a 6-10 game suspension instead of year-long?

According to Matthew Berry on Twitter, “@AdamSchefter on NFL Insiders just said if NFL-NFLPA agreement is approved, Josh Gordon would still be suspended for some games, maybe 6-10.”

SMITTY: Having Josh Gordon for 10 games would be unreal for those who invested in the receiver despite his current ‘year-long’ suspension status. Russ Bliss and I have talked about this for over three-to-four weeks now, especially heading into the last 2-3 weeks of fantasy football drafting… there was/is no risk scooping Gordon up in the late rounds (or even middle rounds) of your fantasy draft, and in leagues where he is still a free agent (or was), I would drop most all of my free agent dollars on the chance he returns for even 6 games. Same goes for Wes Welker, who has a stronger shot of having his ban completely wiped out. Stay on top of this situation in real-time by sign-up for our Smart Alerts.

NEWS: Roddy White ready to play Week 2.

According to reports, Falcons WR Roddy White (knee) is ready for Week 2 against the Bengals.

SMITTY: That Falcons attack will be ready to have another big game in Week 2. Julio Jones has No. 1 overall WR upside moving forward, and Roddy White, who had a strong Week 1 with five receptions for 72 yards and 1TD, is a fine fantasy WR3 assuming he stays healthy. This could be White’s last strong season, so if you’re in a dynasty league, consider selling high at some point this year. Be sure to sign-up for our Smart Alerts so that you get alerted should White’s Week 2 status change.

NEWS: Brandon Marshall (ankle) and Alshon Jeffery will be ready for Week 2.

According to reports, both Brandon Marshall (ankles) and Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) will be ready for Week 2; the Bears face the 49ers on Sunday night.

SMITTY: We have no concerns about Marshall, but a little concern about Jeffery. For now, I fully expect both to play on Sunday night, but be certain to sign-up for our Smart Alerts in case something changes with either receiver. Also, checkout where we have both receivers ranked this week on our Week 2 Power Rankings.
