Week 13 Waiver Wire Grabs

smitty staff

Ok, so it’s Week 13 and it’s time to ensure that none of these players are sitting on waivers in your league. Others (below these top five) are also great adds this week, especially if you’re in need at certain positions.

Week 13 Adds

Doug Baldwin, WR SEA – He is not likely available in most leagues, but you need to check waivers just in case! His last three weeks: 7-134/1TD… 6-60/0TDs… 6-145/3TDs.

David Johnson, RB AZ – Should start with CJ2K out, and with Andre Ellington also banged up.

Markus Wheaton, WR PIT – Don’t expect consistency, as he is the third receiver in PIT, but he should be added.

Spencer Ware, RB KC – West could be back this week, or he may not. Ware is worth owning just in case, and in case West goes down again.

Javorious “Buck” Allen, RB BAL – He is a solid runner that could be hurt by game flow, but he is a solid starter and worth owning, no doubt.

The Rest

Jay Ajayi, RB MIA
Shaun Draughn, RB SF
Antonio Andrews, RB TEN
Steve Johnson, WR, SD
Kamar Aiken, WR, BAL
DeVante Parker, WR MIA
Crockett Gillmore, BAL

SUNDAY NEWS: Live Feed All Day Long (Week 13)

This Week 13 Sunday News topic will be updated all Sunday long!!!

Sign-Up For Smart Alerts if you haven’t already!

News: 11/30 – Broncos TE Julius Thomas (ankle) is inactive for Sunday night’s Week 13 contest against KC.
Take: Get ready for some double-dipping on both receptions and TDs for at least one of Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. Jacob Tamme is a decent emergency play if you did wait until the last second on JT, but hopefully some of you grabbed our TE recommendation this week in Coby Fleener, who had 120+ and 2TDs. Good luck with this Sunday night game, folks!

News: 11/30 – Both Patriots WR Brandon LaFell (shoulder) and RB Shane Vereen (ankle) are active for Week 13 against the Packers.
Take: Both are decent plays, but both have their risks of doing very little some weeks, so be certain they are in a flex spot at most. LaFell, although hit and miss, can drop a big game on any given Sunday. As for Vereen, LeGarrette Blount has the momentum heading into this one and should be a good bet to score in Week 13.

News: 11/30 – Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (knee) is inactive for Sunday’s Week 13 game at ATL.
Take: We have adjusted our Analyzers accordingly, get him out of your line-ups if he is in there. Give both Michael Floyd and John Brown bumps due to this, both are decent WR3 plays in larger leagues.

News: 11/30 – UPDATE: Roddy White will not play Week 13
Take: This is an update on a previous report. Harry Douglas is an emergency WR play if you need one. Expect a big game for Julio Jones!
News: 11/30 – Previous Update: According to a few reports, Falcons Roddy White (ankle) remains a game-time decision for Sunday’s Week 11 battle against the Cardinals.
Take: This news just flew in and it’s our job to provide it even when it rolls in last-minute like this — Use a safer play if you have it!

News: 11/30 – According to Rotoworld, FOX’s Jay Glazer is reporting that the Broncos plan to “err on the side of caution” with Julius Thomas’ ankle.
Take: As we suggested all morning, since this game is Sunday night, fantasy owners have two moves here… make a different start early on, or pick-up Jacob Tamme and start whomever gets the nod on Sunday night. Thomas is truly a game-time call. Expect a ton of Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders should JT sit.

News: 11/30 – According to Rotoworld, CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora is reporting that Larry Fitzgerald (knee) is “making a push to play,” but would be “pretty limited” if active against the Falcons.
Take: This is an afternoon game, so unfortunately fantasy owners may have to make a decision now. If you have a safer option, roll with it, but get on our forums and get some last-minute help with your line-up! I know it’s tough to trust Michael Floyd, or John Brown, with Stanton under center in AZ, but both would get fantasy bumps if Fitz sat.

News: 11/30 – Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) is active for Week 13 against the Colts.
Take: Good news for Reed owners, but he is always a high-risk/high-reward play.

News: 11/30 – Colts TE Dwayne Allen is inactive for Week 13 against the Redskins.
Take: Coby Fleener is a sneaky play here even though he didn’t do much last week.

News: 11/30 – Texans RB Arian Foster (groin) is active for Week 13 game against the Titans.
Take: This was expected. He should be in line-ups and will be a RB1 this week. Be certain to check back just in case he suffers any last-minute setbacks, though.

News: 11/30 – Raiders WR Denarius Moore is scratch for Week 13.
Take: Get him out of line-ups. This makes both Andre Holmes and James Jones a bit more attractive plays this week.

News: 11/30 – According to several reports, things aren’t looking too good for Broncos TE Julius Thomas on Sunday night.
Take: He was limited in practice on Friday and remains very iffy for this one. Since the game is Sunday, you almost have to pick up Jacob Tamme and roll with whomever starts, or make the call early and sit Thomas. If you have a tough decision like this, get on our forums! If JT sits, expect huge bumps in targets for both Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas.

News: 11/30 – Vikings RB Jerick McKinnon (back) is inactive for Week 13 against CAR.
Take: Matt Asiata, Ben Tate and Joe Banyard will all get touches now, but Asiata is the most likely to get the most work. All would be risky plays this week.

News: 11/30 – Bucs TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins (back) is inactive for Week 13 against the Bengals.
Take: Get him out of line-ups if he is in there.

News: 11/30 – According to a few reports, NFL Network’s Albert Breer feels that the Browns will take the “reins off” Josh Gordon this week against the Bills.
Take: As I wrote earlier, anything less than 100 yards and a TD seems disappointing for Gordon, that’s how good this guy is. Keep in mind that there could be quite a bit of wind in this game, so that could limit some of the connections between Hoyer and Gordon. Many in fantasy are down on Hoyer right now, but these two, Gordon and Hoyer, will only get better rapport-wise as we head down the stretch. Hoyer is the best passer for Gordon owners, a QB change is the last thing Gordon owners want.

News: 11/30 – NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch might consider retirement after this season.
Take: A lot can happen between now and next season, but this kind of speculation is just one reason why owning Lynch in dynasty is a touch risky. Many, including us, feel that Seattle will cut Lynch in the off-season for both character and salary reasons, which should open the door for Christine Michael. Again, a lot can happen between now and then — talk about this on our forums! As for next week, Lynch is a Rb1… he isn’t much of a fantasy risk here in 2014, he is all beast. Dynasty owners with no shot to win this year should strongly consider selling high right now, though.

News: 11/30 – According to several reports, there is a feeling that Patriots RBs LeGarrette Blount and Jonas Gray will split carries in Week 13.
Take: There is risk in starting either back, as the team could instantly lean on either one once they appear to be the ‘hot hand’ rusher of the moment. Blount has the momentum coming off last week, though, and he is a good bet to score in this one.

News: 11/30 – After being limited on Friday, and after no new updates on Saturday, Julius Thomas enters today very iffy to play Week 13.
Take: Keep checking with us all morning, and know that we will be Smart Alerting any updates out just as soon as we have the info! If you have dilemmas, get on our forums and get some last-minute advice! Post polls in your questions, though, as you will get more help that way with those tough start/bench questions!

News: 11/30 – Browns TE Jordan Cameron (concussion) has been ruled out of Week 13.
Take: Given he didn’t pass the final stage of his concussion protocol, his Week 14 availability has to be at risk as well. Check back on this one for next week. As for Week 13, expect a ton of Josh Gordon. If Gordon doesn’t have 100 yards and at least 1TD against the Bills, I’ll be disappointed.

News: 11/30 – According to mypalmbeachpost.com, Dolphins WR Javaris Landry is the team’s go-to receiver already.
Take: This kid is for real, and he is just one of the many dominate up-and-coming receivers born from this 2014 NFL Draft class. He enters 2015 with some serious dynasty appeal! Buy-low now in dynasty if you can. As for Week 13, I’m thinking 60-70 yard receiving and a score sounds about right for the Dolphin on Monday night against the Jets!

News: 11/30 – Jets TE Jace Amaro (concussion) has been ruled out of Week 13.
Take: Jeff Cumberland will start and deserves a look in the deepest of leagues.
