NEWS: TY Hilton (hamstring) not practicing yet on Thursday?

SMITTY: This is a tough spot to be in for all you TY Hilton owners out there, as the Colts have already clinched the AFC South. The Colts could be cautious with Hilton so that he is ready to rock in the playoffs. Stay on this via our news wire, and be certain to dial into our Smart Alerts in order to get updates on the receiver heading into kickoff (should news break). Looking for Week 16 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Cam Newton taking first team reps, on track to start Week 16?

SMITTY: He took most of the first-team reps during Thursday’s practice, which indicates he will be back in the line-up this week (unless, of course, he suffers a setback of some kind, which is why you need to be dialed into our Smart Alerts). This is great news for Kelvin Benjamin and Greg Olsen, but Cam is still a risky play given we aren’t sure how much his back will affect his play (especially running) in Week 16. NEWS: Julio Jones (hip) could miss Week 16?

SMITTY: Earlier reports suggested that coach Smith expects Julio Jones (hip) to play the Saints in Week 16, but we have seen this too many times before, where a coach, or player, promises the world and then sits. Don’t count on having Julio this week if just to ensure you’re prepared for the worst-case scenario. Harry Douglas, one of our top pick-up recommendations of the week last week, should be owned in all formats, as he is almost a low-end WR2 whenever Julio is out. We will keep you posted once we know more on the stud’s status for this most-important week in fantasy. Looking for Week 16 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Demaryius Thomas (ankle) probable for Week 15.

SMITTY: He practiced in full on Friday, according to most reports, so he is back in the top 1-5WR range for Week 15. We expect a huge bounce-back effort out of Peyton Manning, Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders (and hopefully Julius Thomas returns to action with some top 5TE production). Also, CJ Anderson is now probable for this game and fully expected to play. He was limited some on Thursday with an ankle injury, but is fully expected to be back to starter carries in Week 15. NEWS: Colt McCoy (neck) cleared for Week 15 and will start.

SMITTY: He isn’t a QB one can trust in the fantasy playoffs, not unless you’re in the deepest of 2QB leagues. Looking for Week 15 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Cam Newton taken to the hospital in ambulance after major car crash.

UPDATE: Cam Newton has two transverse process fractures in his lower back, but it appears he suffered no other internal injuries, which is good news. Tony Romo suffered this type of injury, missed just one game, but had a bye in there in those following weeks as well to heal up before returning to form. With this situation, it’s tough to say if Newton will be able to play Week 15 let alone Weeks 16 and 17. Stay tuned, as this could get worse, we just don’t know. Derek Anderson would start if Cam sits Week 15.

PREVIOUS UPDATE: It looks like Cam Newton’s truck was crushed pretty bad, then Newton was loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher. Reports just surfaced suggesting that Newton is conscious and even “smiling” and that he suffered no severe injuries. We will keep you posted, but after a very scary situation, it looks like Cam is going to be ok. That said, there is some concern about his Week 15 availability until we hear otherwise. NEWS: Zach Mettenberger (AC Joint) likely done for the season; Jake Locker to start Weeks 15-17; Delanie Walker still a TE1?

SMITTY: There are actually conflicting reports on this, some suggesting that Tennessee is considering him week to week, but most are calling his season now. Without receivers, none of these TEN passers are going to produce much. Because he will see enough targets with so many TEN receivers out, we still like Delanie Walker as a low-end TE1 moving forward.

NEWS: Josh Gordon receiving criticism about being out of shape?

SMITTY: This came from Chris Mortensen on his Twitter account. Gordon also gave up some snaps to Taylor Gabriel and Travis Benjamin on Sunday in Week 14. Word is that the Browns are not pleased with his conditioning, routes or knowledge of the playbook. We wouldn’t read too much into this – yet. Keep in mind, out of shape or not, Gordon is arguably the most gifted receiver in the league, had 100 yards his first week back from suspension two weeks ago, and would have had a TD in Week 14 had Hoyer not missed a late TD strike to Gordon. Stay tuned, as we expect some Hoyer/Manziel controversy all day and week!

NEWS: Torrey Smith hurt in Week 13.

SMITTY: He was seen limping to the locker room after the game and wasn’t in the game on the final and important possession. We will keep you posted, but there is some reason to be concerned here. If out for Week 14, Steve Smith Sr. would get a nice fantasy bump and would be a great buy-low candidate for anyone’s WR3 slot.

NEWS: Odell Beckham Jr. (back) probable for Week 13.

SMITTY: Unless he suffers some kind of injury in warm-ups, or on Saturday, the guys is locked into high-end WR2 starting line-up slots. He has to be. We might possibly be looking at a fantasy WR1 as early as next year. He is clearly already showing flashes of that right this very moment. Stud! Looking for Week 13 Power Rankings?
