Archive for Mohamed Sanu

NEWS: AJ Green and Jermaine Gresham both ruled out for today; Trent Richardson active for Wild Card battle.

SMITTY: Get Jermaine Gresham and AJ Green out of playoff fantasy football lineups! As we said before, when AJ Green was doubtful and not ‘out’, we expect to see a whole bunch of Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard. However, if the Colts get out to an early lead, both backs could be limited on the ground, meaning Hill could have more value early on in the game, with Gio being used a lot more later on in the contest. Game flow will determine a lot with those Bengals players, and Mohamed Sanu will surely get a ton of looks with both Gresham and Green out. With the Bengals left without their best player, we will likely see a ton of Andrew Luck to TY Hilton/Coby Fleener/and gang. Looking for Week 18 Fantasy Football Playoff Rankings?

NEWS: AJ Green (concussion) not practicing Friday; doubtful for Wild Card game?

SECOND UPDATE: Updating the below report, AJ Green is now doubtful for Week 18’s Wild Card contest. Mohamed Sanu is a sneaky start in playoff leagues, and Jeremy Hill is a beast-of-a-start in leagues that allow for the resetting of lineups each round.

First UPDATE: This is going to come down to a game-time decision, so if you are thinking of starting AJ Green in any of your fantasy football playoff leagues, be sure to check all the way through to Sunday’s Wild Card kickoff against the Colts. Our guess is that he will play, but counting on him this far away from kickoff (for instance, setting your playoff line-up(s) now and never checking back) is not advised. Regardless, Jeremy Hill will be given a boatload of carries in this one – he is a fine RB1 in Week 1 of the 2015 fantasy football playoffs. Looking for Week 18 Fantasy Football Playoff Rankings?

NEWS: Andy Dalton & AJ Green play awful in Week 10; All three CLE rushers score a touchdown.

SMITTY: Andy Dalton was just plain awful in this one, completing just 10-of-33 passes for 86 yards, 0TDs and 3INTs. Of course, this left AJ Green (3/23/0TDs) and Mohamed Sanu 2/20/0TDs) with zero change to produce, as there was just 86 yards and 0TDs to spread around. Dalton’s bad play, mixed with horrible game planning, eliminated Jeremy Hill’s production (12 carries for 55 yards) despite his solid 4.58 yards-per-carry tonight. He had a fumble, which took him out of the game plan for a bit, but we still like Hill a lot moving forward, at least as a flex (even when Giovani Bernard returns from his hip injury). The team, and Gio himself, may look to speed along his recovery after this horrible offensive performance, but we still only feel comfortable calling Gio ‘questionable’ for Week 11. He is a great buy-low candidate right now, though, if your team can weather through another missed game should he have to sit out Week 11. As for those Browns rushers, they all scored a touchdown in this one, and the stat lines looked like: West: 94/1TD, Crowell: 41/1TD and Tate: 34/1TD… West dominated the carries with 26, something that we speculated prior to the game, but in all honesty, playing any of those Browns rushers was a gamble prior to kickoff. West looks like the clear starter moving forward, though – for now. Looking for Week 10 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Giovani Bernard and AJ Green both could miss Week 9?

SMITTY: This isn’t good news for the Bengals. Giovani Bernard is bothered by a collarbone issue and a hip pointer. Stay tuned on this one, as Jeremy Hill would be our sneaky-good RB2 start of the week if given the keys to the line-up. Gio is a beast, and a play maker, so if he does miss a game, don’t worry about his workload upon his return, even if Hill explodes. Gio needs less rushes and more receptions anyway, so Hill being used more is actually a good thing for Gio’s overall touches and yards per touch. As for AJ Green, he practiced on a limited basis Wednesday and said he will just take things “day to day”, which likely means he will be a game-time decision in Week 9. NEWS: AJ Green practicing and expected to give Week 9 a go.

SMITTY: Most all sources around are predicting that he will attempt to play this week, especially after getting in some practice time today, but keep tabs on this via this news wire (and via our Smart Alerts) in case the stud suffers a setback. Green could be on a snap count this week, but if he is a go, fantasy owners need to play him. Mohamed Sanu is still a fine fantasy WR2/3 until Green is back to his old self. Even then, Sanu is still a fine fantasy WR3 moving forward. Stay tuned. Looking for Week 9 Power Rankings?

NEWS: AJ Green (toe) unsure about Week 8; his toe to bother him all season?

SMITTY: In an NFL Network interview, AJ Green had this to say on his toe and chances of playing in Week 8: “It’s still up in the air,” Green said. “But it definitely feels better. We’ll see about this week.” It was his answer on whether the injury would bother him all season that concerned us, as he had this to say on that: “It’s probably not gonna be 100 percent, but I hope it’s just manageable,” Green said. “I can get through the season and be fine and still play at a high level.” Hopefully Green can still play at a top 5-10 wide receiver level upon his return, but there is some risk here. Stay tuned. Mohamed Sanu has strong WR2-type appeal, if not higher, for each game that Green misses (which could be just one more game); he could maintain value even close to that level if Green comes back and can’t play at a very high level. NEWS: AJ Green still very doubtful for Week 7; Sanu to shine again in Week 7?

SMITTY: His toe is expected to keep him out of Week 7, but currently the Bengals are calling him day-to-day. Call it strategy to keep opponents honest, call it hope, but fantasy owners better prepare for at least one more week without Green; however, his status past Week 7 is sounding better and better. Mohamed Sanu is locked into high-end fantasy WR2-type value until Green returns, yet he is still on waivers in some larger leagues? Grab him, folks! Looking for Week 7 Power Rankings?

NEWS: AJ Green expected to miss Week 7, but will not need surgery; Marvin Jones done for season leaving Sanu to thrive?

SMITTY: We have heard mixed reports on AJ Green’s Week 7 availability, but everything is speculation at this point. So, check back all week long, and be sure to sign up for Smart Alerts. With Marvin Jones officially done for the season, Mohamed Sanu is gold until Green returns. It’s surprising that Sanu is still available in so many leagues. He has been on our Weekly Waiver Wire List for weeks — grab him if for any reason he is still out there in your league(s)! Looking for Week 7 Power Rankings?

WR A.J. Green (CIN) will miss a second consecutive game in Week 7, but he is not expected to require surgery. Green is scheduled to see a doctor Friday, Oct. 17.

NEWS: AJ Green has a shot to play Week 7?

SMITTY: Coach Marvin Lewis said that AJ Green has a ‘shot’ to play Week 7, but other sources suggest that even Green himself expects to sit out another week. Until we hear something more concrete, it’s smart to expect to be without Green in Week 7. Mohamed Sanu remains an excellent fantasy WR2 until Green returns! Our Smart Alerts and this news wire have you covered on updates on this, though!

NEWS: AJ Green carted to locker room with toe issue; Could miss a couple weeks?

SMITTY: UPDATE: AJ Green will undergo an MRI, and word is that he could be shut down for a few weeks. Mohamed Sanu is a must-grab if available in your league, as he could see fantasy WR2-type targets with Green out. We will keep you posted, but for now, this clearly affects our Week 6 Power Rankings.

SMITTY: There5889
isn’t much on this situation yet, so stay tuned. According to rotoworld, AJ Green ‘threw off his shoe in dusgust, hopped on a cart’ and headed to the locker room. So far this doesn’t look good, so stay tuned! Looking for Week 6 Power Rankings?
