According to reports, Browns WR Andrew Hawkins is the only receiver standing out in Browns camp thus far.
SMITTY: Aside from stud tight end Jordan Cameron, who will likely lead the team in receptions, yards and TDs in 2014, Andrew Hawkins and Charles Johnson have the most sleeper/breakout appeal when looking at what’s left of the Browns wide receiver group. Sure, Miles Austin has a shot to be decent role player for the Browns, but he has all kinds of injury risk. Cameron is the only stud pass catcher on this team, the rest are at best a group of deep, deep fantasy bench guys, with Hawkins likely looking the most promising.
According to reports, Browns rookie QB Johnny Manziel inked a four-year deal with the Cleveland Browns.
SMITTY: While the Browns will give their rookie quarterback every chance to start Week 1, Hoyer will enter camp as the starter. Hoyer is a very underrated passer, but it’s a shame that he has to go into this opportunity without Josh Gordon (awaiting what looks like a year-long suspension by the NFL). It’s tough to know what to expect fantasy-wise when it comes to this offense, as Miles Austin has fantasy WR3-type appeal, but can he stay healthy? Jordan Cameron could lead the team in receiving yards, receptions and touchdowns, and Ben Tate has a chance to produce high-end RB2-type numbers… but can Tate stay healthy and prove doubters wrong? If he can, I expect a huge season out of him. If he can’t stay healthy, get ready for the Terrance West show! I really like both Tate and West, it’s too bad they both landed on the same team, as both are RB2-capable fantasy players. For projections on all these guys, run our:
