NEWS: Julio Jones (hip) could miss Week 16?

SMITTY: Earlier reports suggested that coach Smith expects Julio Jones (hip) to play the Saints in Week 16, but we have seen this too many times before, where a coach, or player, promises the world and then sits. Don’t count on having Julio this week if just to ensure you’re prepared for the worst-case scenario. Harry Douglas, one of our top pick-up recommendations of the week last week, should be owned in all formats, as he is almost a low-end WR2 whenever Julio is out. We will keep you posted once we know more on the stud’s status for this most-important week in fantasy. Looking for Week 16 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Julio Jones (hip) can barely run and could be a decoy in Week 15 if he even plays?

SMITTY: We don’t expect Julio Jones to be active this week, which is a huge bummer for fantasy owners. That said, Harry Douglas is a respectable plug-and-play option, as his production will jump big-time with more targets. Make sure Douglas isn’t sitting on waivers. He is a great add this week. Of course, check back with us all the way up to kickoff, as this situation could change. Looking for Week 15 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Julio Jones (hip) a true game-time decision for Week 15.

SMITTY: This is one of those true game-time calls, so you will have to be signed up for Smart Alerts and be checking this Breaking News Wire all morning on Sunday. This is a morning game on Sunday, so fantasy owners will at least have options should the receiver not play (Harry Douglas is a fine “grab and start” if Jones does in fact sit, and if you own Jones, grab Douglas now just in case). Roddy White will also see an uptick in targets should Julio sit, so he’d become a solid play this week as well, however, we like Douglas a bit more given Roddy (ankle) is still banged up. NEWS: Roddy White active for Monday Night Football Week 14 against GB.

SMITTY: While he isn’t much more than a fantasy WR3, he is active, which is good. The Packers inactives were quiet-like — We expect this to be a high-scoring event, led by Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, Eddie Lacy and of course Aaron Rodgers. Julio Jones could be in for a big game as well, but we fully expect the Packers to win this one by quite a bit. It’s football, anything can happen on game day, which is why this sport is so fun to watch. Good luck to all of you with players in this game tonight!

NEWS: Julio Jones says that he is 100 percent healthy for Week 10?

SMITTY: Folks, this is the best buy-low on the year, at least as far as studs go. Most consider him struggling, and sure, he is given how much upside he has… but ‘struggling’, he is on pace for 106 receptions for 1468 yards and 6TDs. That’s struggling for a guy like Julio. Buy-low! Looking for Week 10 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Roddy White and Doug Martin both inactive for Week 3; Bobby Rainey a RB1 this week and Harry Douglas a sneaky fantasy WR3?

SMITTY: Bobby Rainey is a fantasy RB1 against a Falcons rushing defense that gives up over 150 rushing yards per game and has surrendered 5TDs through the first two weeks. Get Roddy White out of your line-up, and consider Harry Douglas as a spot play this week if you’re in need. Even if you don’t own White, Douglas is a sneaky start if desperate at your fantasy WR3. Julio Jones owners better get ready for a big Week 3! Looking for Week 3 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Roddy White (hamstring) is likely going to sit out his Week 3 Thursday night contest against Bucs.

SMITTY: This report is from PFT, and it’s suggesting he is likely out. Clearly check back, and sign up for our Smart Alerts in order to get real-time updates on this, but White owners should start getting an alternative plan in place right now. Looking for Week 3 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Julio Jones pulls in 63 yards and 1TD against Titans; Ryan tosses for 2TDs.

Falcons WR Julio Jones pulled in two passes for 63 yards and 1TD against the Titans tonight; Matt Ryan completed 18-of-23 passes for 224 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.

SMITTY: Yep, Julio Jones looks full-go alright… So does Matt Ryan. If healthy, and there still is some risk with the foot, I fully expect Julio Jones to make a run for this year’s top scoring fantasy wide receiver. Looking for Week 1 Power Rankings?

QB Matt Ryan could be top five in yardage; Julio Jones the best WR in football?

According to ESPN’s Vaughn McClure, Falcons QB Matt Ryan will “be among the top five quarterbacks in passing yards for a third consecutive season.” As for Julio Jones, ajc.com reported Jones claiming that he feels “stronger” than ever (despite not being full-go yet).

SMITTY: If Julio Jones can enter 2014 ready to rumble, he will move to my No. 1-ranked receiver spot heading into 2014; he already is my No. 1-ranked dynasty wide receiver. Before getting hurt in Week 5 last year, Julio pulled in 41 passes, which had him on pace for 131 receptions and 1,856 yards (116 yards per-game); he is the kind of receiver that can crank out Calvin Johnson-like receptions and yardage, but with Randy Moss-like touchdown production. His availability for Week 1 is still not yet known, although things look good. Below you will find a June 17th Julio Jones/CBSSports interview, which touches on topics like Jones’ injury, his recovery, his confidence and his skill set/talent. If cleared for Week 1, we’re going to drop jaws with our Julio Jones projections, which can be found using our 2014 Draft Analyzer (which is 2014-ready!).
