NEWS: Eddie Lacy (concussion) in full pads at Packers practice on Thursday.

According to Tom Silverstein on Twitter, Packers RB Eddie Lacy was seen “working in full pads” on Thursday.

SMITTY: This is great news for Eddie Lacy owners. Staying healthy has always been a concern for me when it comes to Lacy (and now he has two concussions in 17 regular season games), but when on the field, there is no denying he has top 4-5RB upside… James Starks is a smart handcuff if you own Lacy… if his status changes prior to Sunday, you can bet our Smart Alerts will have you covered… Looking for Eddie Lacy Week 2 Power Rankings?

NEWS: James Starks to start if Eddie Lacy (concussion) cannot.

According to numerous reports, Packers RB James Starks will start Week 2 if Eddie Lacy (concussion) is unable to play.

SMITTY: Eddie Lacy is moving rapidly through the league’s concussion protocol, so odds are that Lacy plays Week 2, but this is a reminder that Starks is a must-own for all Lacy owners. If Starks is available in your league, whether you’re a Lacy owner or not, he one of this week’s better pick-ups for sure, but not over players like Justin Forsett or Allen Hurns (or of course Josh Gordon if for some reason he is available). NEWS: Eddie Lacy optimistic that he will be cleared for Week 2.

According to PFT, Packers RB Eddie Lacy is “optimistic he’ll be cleared to play in Week Two.”

SMITTY: This is great news for Eddie Lacy owners. Two concussions with really one season and one game in the books is concerning long-term, but Lacy is almost a good buy-low candidate just as long as he is fully ready for Week 2. Be sure to sign up for our Smart Alerts so that you can be kept up to date on Lacy’s status heading into Week 2, and also to get trade idea tips regarding Lacy and players like him. NEWS: Eddie Lacy exited Thursday season opener with concussion?

Packers RB Eddie Lacy was forced from Thursday’s Week 1 season opener against the Seahawks with a concussion.

SMITTY: The runner left in the 4th-quarter after aggressively running into Kam Chancellor (on purpose). This is Eddie Lacy’s second concussion in his young career, which is a bit concerning. If healthy, and he has well over a week to clear the league’s concussion protocols, he is a fantasy RB1. Just keep checking back regarding his health, as anything can develop with concussions. NEWS: Eddie Lacy could lead the league in rushing in 2014?

According to jsonline.com, Packers running back coach Sam Gash believes that RB Eddie Lacy is capable of leading the league in rushing this season. “Without a doubt,” Sam Gash, the team’s running backs coach, said Monday. “He has the capability of being the leading rusher and maybe even combined yards if he catches a lot of balls. I absolutely do think that. I think he’s a bell cow. He’s a big guy, and he’s physical.”

SMITTY: Gash isn’t alone, which is why Eddie Lacy’s ADP has climbed into the 1.04 range in many redraft drafts. He and Matt Forte are dominating the ADP data for being the 4th-ranked rusher heading into 2014. Looking for Eddie Lacy Week 1 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Eddie Lacy couldn’t have looked better during Week 1 of Packers camp?

According to jsonline.com, Packers RB Eddie Lacy “couldn’t have looked any better” during the first week of Packers camp.

SMITTY: Eddie Lacy now has an ADP in the 1.05-1.06 range, but he deserves that kind of value. Will the big man last for 5 years in this league? My guess is that at his size, and with his foot history, he could be a 3-4 year stud and then be someone you want to trade on the high in dynasty, but there is absolutely no doubt that he can be a top 3-6 fantasy rusher in 2014 (and probably 2015-2016) — Green Bay is going to use him a ton over the next handful of years! NEWS: Aaron Rodgers and Packers plan to execute 75 plays per game in 2014.

According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers plan to speed-up the offense in 2014. According to the report, “McCarthy and his quarterback have one primary goal in mind for 2014: Run 75 plays per game.”

SMITTY: This would be great news for fantasy owners of Aaron Rodgers, Eddie Lacy, Randall Cobb, Jordy Nelson and Jarrett Boykin. The Broncos led the NFL last year with 72 plays per game, while the Packers were just outside the top 10. Rodgers, if healthy, feels like a strong bet for 40TDs this upcoming year, and both Nelson and Cobb have double-digit touchdown potential… all this spells a big ’14 season for Eddie Lacy, who will have all kinds of wide-open rushing lanes all year long.
