According to csnbayarea.com, Raiders WR Andre Holmes has the confidence of QB Matt Schaub when it comes to getting “to the top” of his routes; Schaub also feels that Holmes “can stretch the field” for the team in 2014.
SMITTY: I actually really like what I’ve seen out of Andre Holmes, but his upside really boils down to the quarterback position. While I have my questions about Matt Schaub playing at a consistent level all year, I really like the future upside of Derek Carr. Oakland could misuse Holmes, though, know that. For now, though, Holmes remains a nice dynasty grab (in larger leagues), and he could certainly beat out all the other Oakland receivers in terms of fantasy production if he got the targets. James Jones will be the trendy choice for top reception-getter in Oakland this upcoming season, but he is banged up right now with a shoulder injury. Denarious Moore and Rod Streater also have a shot at being a top target-getter, but all these guys seem more like a team’s No. 2 receiver. Holmes has the most natural talent.
