Hey Starters Nation:

We have a bit more news today and we wanted to get it out to you tonight!

Breaking News

Terrance West traded to TEN

The Browns have traded RB Terrance West to the Titans in exchange for a conditional 2016 7th-round pick. Titans rookie RB David Cobb was placed on IR-return with a calf injury, so this explains the move for the Titans, and West is kind of in the same situation Christine Michael now is in over in Dallas (Michael was traded to Dallas today). Both runners are likely going to start in a reserve-type role, but both are good enough to be their team’s starter. Michael, especially, has a chance at elite numbers should he rise into that Dallas starting running back role, but it’s important to keep in mind that both runners have an uphill climb. Grabbing both, especially Michael, is advised if you have the space!

James Jones returns to GB

James Jones is now a Packer. This isn’t great news for either Ty Montgomery or Jeff Janis, but we aren’t so sure it affects Davante Adams too much. It’s good for Aaron Rodgers, who could use a bit of veteran play with Jordy Nelson out for the year.

Colts waive Dan Herron

The Colts have waived Dan Herron, making both Vick Ballard and rookie Josh Robinson the back-ups to Frank Gore. Don’t be shocked if the team signs a Montee Ball or Jonas Gray.

Jay Ajayi placed on IR-return

Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi placed on IR-return with a rib injury. Damien Williams is the team’s top back-up as of now, which is huge for Lamar Miller owners, as Miller is set for no real competition. However, don’t be shocked if the team signs someone like Montee Ball or Jonas Gray.

Christine Michael acquired by Dallas Cowboys.

Christine Michael

9/6/2015: (News) The Cowboys have acquired RB Christine Michael from the Seahawks for a conditional seventh-round draft pick.

Smitty: There wasn’t/isn’t a better situation for Christine Michael, who has off-the-chart abilities. Will he rise in Dallas? That’s tough to say, but Russ Bliss and I just recently talked about that overrated Dallas running back situation on Russ Bliss’ The Red Zone radio program. Randle is/was extremely over-valued, especially back in August drafts, and while Michael isn’t guaranteed anything, his arrival in Dallas is not good news for Randle owners. Randle owners need to run, not walk, to go pick-up Michael. It is probably too late to buy-low in leagues where he is already rostered, not unless you can buy him at decent value, and overpaying at this point isn’t wise. If you have been following this topic on our forums, well, then you already have Michael stashed on your roster (and nice work). Our forum is the place to be for stuff like this, so if you aren’t active on our forums, get on there! In conclusion, it is time to get a bit excited, all you Michael believers… this situation is the best-case scenario for us all, but he still has a lot of work ahead of him to climb that depth chart… hopefully talent wins out on this one, though! A final note: If you missed out on grabbing him, be sure you don’t have a knee-jerk reaction here and go overpay getting him on your roster. He has huge upside, take a stab via trade if you want, but bring your offers to our forums so you aren’t overpaying! More Player Spotlights

NEWS: Marshawn Lynch ready for Week 15!

SMITTY: He is probable to play and probable to produce top 5-10RB numbers any week he plays. His future in Seattle might be in question, but his value in Weeks 15 and 16 aren’t. Looking for Week 15 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Marshawn Lynch (back) is probable for Week 12.

SMITTY: Despite the tough match-up against the Cardinals, Marshawn Lynch has low-end RB1 upside. He is usually a high-end RB1, but this one will be tough sledding. 70-80 yards and a solid shot at a score is doable for the tough runner. We keep saying it each week, be certain to handcuff Lynch to Christine Michael. Looking for Week 12 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Marshawn Lynch did not practice WED.

SMITTY: This isn’t a big issue, as the calf injury isn’t likely to keep him out of Week 11. Marshawn Lynch is a top 5RB moving forward, but his future in Seattle is very, very questionable. This should have the Seahawks giving Christine Michael more and more run just to test drive him. But, that’s good for both Lynch and Michael owners, as it keeps Lynch fresh, and it gives Seattle a look at their potential 2015 starter. Dynasty owners should be excited about Michael’s future, but a lot of things have to happen for him to start in Seattle in 2015, so just keep that in mind if you are a non-Michael owner and you’re trying to join the party late. It’s never wise to buy-high on such players, as then you’re buying all kinds of risk. These players are only worth buying low. Looking for Week 11 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Marshawn Lynch (calf) banged up but expected to play Week 10.

SMITTY: Update: Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said on Friday that Marshawn Lynch (calf) is ready for Week 10 against the Giants. The below info still applies regarding the handcuffs, and again, he is a top 5-10RB whenever starting for the Seahawks. However, his future in Seattle is questionable at best, so at some point this year, even if it’s in Weeks 16 and 17, you have to think the team will test drive Christine Michael a bit.

Previous Post:: It doesn’t sound like a big issue, but we will certainly keep you posted on this one via both our news wire right here and our Smart Alerts. If ready to rumble, and we fully expect that in Week 10 (at this point), the stud is a top 5-10RB start. He is a top 5-10 start weekly when healthy. If you can manage it roster space-wise, all Lynch owners should own both Robert Turbin and Christine Michael (unless of course you’re in a league with small rosters). NEWS: Percy Harvin traded to the Jets for a conditional pick.

SMITTY: This is a strange trade for the Jets. First, Harvin (thigh) is banged up. Second, the Jets are 1-6. As for the Seahawks, they free up a lot with this move, and they have some resigning to do next off-season (Russell Wilson and possibly Marshawn Lynch). Freeing up cash isn’t something Christine Michael owners were hoping for, but so many things can happen at the running back position by next off-season, that’s something we will have to attack down the road (for all you dynasty folks out there). This gives big bumps to both Paul Richardson and Jermaine Kearse (in both dynasty and redraft), and despite Harvin having just one 50+ yard outing this year, this has to hurt the 2014 value of Russell Wilson, if even just a little bit. Harvin may not have a huge stat line through Week 6, but he commands a ton of defensive attention, and he had 3TDs called back in one game… he is stretching the field and creating all kinds of chaos for opposing defenses. Do we like Harvin in New York? No. I’m not sure any fantasy players can be consistent in a Jets’ uniform (at least this year). This move has to help Geno Smith, but not enough to be anything close to a fantasy QB1. Looking for Week 7 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Marshawn Lynch was back practicing in full on Thursday.

SMITTY: Marshawn Lynch appears in no danger of missing Week 3 — He is a top 4-7RB play in Week 3. All Beast Mode owners should own his back-ups (Robert Turbin and Christine Michael, or at least one if in a smaller league), as Lynch is one of the most aggressive rushers in the league, and he has a ton of milage. He could make it through the entire season, sure, but planning ahead is smart given the mileage and aggressive style (mixed with the back issues). Looking for Week 3 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Marshawn Lynch (back) did not practice on Wednesday.

SMITTY: We have said this a thousand different ways and will continue to say it… Marshawn Lynch is a top 5-10RB when he is on the field, and he might very well start all 16 games this season. That said, he is one of the most aggressive rushers in the league, abusing his body on every carry more so than any other runner in the league. If he goes down, Robert Turbin could be called upon first, that won’t be a huge surprise, but both he and Christine Michael (top 5-10RB-capable if starting) should be owned by even non-Lynch owners in all larger leagues. If you own Lynch, you have to own these guys, or at least one. As for Week 3, we haven’t heard anything that suggests that Lynch’s back is going to keep him out of Week 3, but keep an eye on this, and sign up for our Smart Alerts in case this situation changes. NEWS: Marshawn Lynch will let it rip on Thursday night against the Packers?

According to usatoday, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll expects that RB Marshawn Lynch will “let it rip” in Thursday night’s opener against the Packers.

SMITTY: Regardless of our support and belief in Christine Michael entering next off-season, Marshawn Lynch is still a RB1 heading into 2014, and it wouldn’t be shocking at all if he had a top 5-7RB season in 2014 (with that kind of production starting tonight).
