NEWS: Carson Palmer, Andre Ellington and Michael Floyd all practicing and expected to play Week 7.

SMITTY: All three have been limited here and there this week, but all three are expect to be a go this week. Ellington and Floyd have top 8-12 upside at their positions when Palmer is in the lineup – Palmer is a necessity for that offense from a fantasy perspective. Ellington has been consistent all year long, despite his foot injury, but you have to think that MONSTER outing is nearby. Looking for Week 7 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Drew Stanton (concussion) cleared for Week 6; Larry Fitzgerald for Tom Brady trade rumors?

SMITTY: Getting Stanton cleared for Week 6 is solid news for the Cards, and it makes us think that the team will hold Carson Palmer (shoulder/nerve) out one more week just to be certain they can get him as healthy as possible before he commands the offense again. As for the Larry Fitzgerald for Tom Brady trade rumors, there is a speculative piece out by Sports World Report, nothing confirmed, but it’s an interesting move, something I’d love to see go down. The Cards have John Brown ready for an expanded role, and frankly the team doesn’t use Fitz properly. The defense is the Cardinals’ foundation, they would instantly be a bigger threat with Brady under center (despite his horrible play as of late – A new environment might help him remain top 5-6 capable for 1-2 more seasons). Again, this is merely speculation at this point, but interesting speculation for sure. Checkout where we have all those Cardinals receivers ranked on our Week 6 Power Rankings now that Stanton is at least going to be under center this week. Stay tuned for more updates on Palmer, as he could still play this week. We expect a big day for Andre Ellington in the Cards’ Week 6 battle against the Redskins. Of course, that Cards defense is an excellent play in this one!

NEWS: Carson Palmer threw on Tuesday; he could start Week 6?

SMITTY: Keep in mind that he threw last Tuesday as well, but had a setback with the nerve in his shoulder. This is a great sign, and an earlier report on Sunday said that Palmer had a ‘breakthrough’, so this sounds positive. Getting him back in the line-up would boost values for all three of Michael Floyd, Larry Fitzgerald and Andre Ellington (who still has top 5-10RB upside with a potent offense behind him). Stay tuned on this one! Looking for Week 6 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Injuries heading into Week 6; Branden Oliver on the rise, Montee Ball could be out a bit, Calvin Johnson suffered a setback in Week 5.

Donald Brown left Week 5 with a concussion. Branden Oliver dropped 182 total yards and 2TDs in Week 5, and he now becomes a must-own in all leagues and this week’s top waiver wire grab.

Montee Ball suffered a groin injury in Week 5 and is getting an MRI. He is looking very questionable for the next couple games. Ronnie Hillman is a must grab this week.

Calvin Johnson suffered a setback in Week 5; his week 6 status is in question.

Rashad Jennings left Week 5 with a knee injury and will undergo an MRI. Andre Williams is not likely available in any leagues, but do check. If Jennings is out, Williams could produce fantasy RB2 numbers if getting starter carries.

Jimmy Graham injured his shoulder in Week 5, but early word is that it isn’t serious. Stay tuned.

Reggie Bush left Week 5 with an ankle injury. It is not though to be serious, but stay tuned. Hopefully Joique Bell will be back in the next contest.

Drew Stanton suffered a concussion in Week 5; Carson Palmer could be back next week, so keep tabs on this one. Palmer back would be good for Floyd, Fitz and Ellington.

Zac Stacy exited Week 5 with a calf injury. He did not return to the game, so there is concern here. Benny Cunningham is a must-grab if for some reason he is available. It’s not likely, though, but check waivers.

NEWS: Carson Palmer to seek a second opinion on his nerve issue in shoulder.

SMITTY: UPDATE: The second opinion is suggesting that Palmer not have surgery and to just continue rehabbing the injury. While this is good news in some ways, it’s hard to imagine Palmer playing Week 5, so expect Drew Stanton to start, and all of the below regarding how it affects the Cardinal players still applies.

SMITTY: This is not a good sign regarding his Week 5 eligibility. However, some sources are still calling him 50/50 to play Week 5. I myself think it’s time to start preparing for yet another Drew Stanton start, and while he is serviceable for the Cards and their road to winning, owners of Andre Ellington, Michael Floyd, Larry Fitzgerald, and even John Brown, can’t catch a break here. Palmer out of that line-up knocks all these guys down a good tier in terms of fantasy value. Hopefully the team leans on Ellington in Week 5, and hopefully his Week 4 bye got his foot closer to healthy. Looking for Week 5 Power Rankings?

QB Carson Palmer (shoulder) expected back after the Cardinals Week 4 bye.

SMITTY: This is great news for everyone from Michael Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald owners, straight down to Andre Ellington owners, as Ellington will now likely be a week healthier with that foot, and will now have open rushing lanes. Of course, keep real-time tabs on this topic by signing up for Smart Alerts. Looking for Week 4 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Carson Palmer to throw today? Value increases coming for Floyd, Fitz and Ellington?

SMITTY: This is great news for Michael Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald owners, although, Drew Stanton is playing effective football under center. Still, as we said last week, Palmer in that AZ line-up almost increases both receiver’s values by a tier or more (and the same can be said for Andre Ellington, who will have more room to run in Weeks 5+ with Palmer back keeping defenses honest). Check back with us after Wednesday’s practice, as we should have a better indication regarding Palmer’s potential Week 5 availability. Remember, the Cards have a bye here in Week 4, which is perfect timing for the 3-0 Birds. Looking for Week 4 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Andre Ellington (foot) returned to practice Thursday; Carson Palmer (shoulder) was limited.

SMITTY: The values of both Michael Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald are directly tied to whether or not Carson Palmer can go, and as of now, Palmer is not looking like a strong bet to play Week 3. While anything can happen on any game day, both receivers almost lose an entire tier of value without their gunslinger under center. As for Ellington, he is expected to play as of now, but of course keep checking back with us on this one, and of course sign up for Smart Alerts so that you can get real-time updates. If good to go, and he’d need to suffer a setback not to go, Ellington should see a heavy workload with Jonathan Dwyer deactivated. Looking for Week 3 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Carson Palmer could miss a day or an entire month?

SMITTY: This is a ‘nerve’ issue, and coach Bruce Arians is being extremely vague giving us the 1 day or 1 month timetable. Michael Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald owners better hope Palmer gets back into that line-up soon, as each could drop a tier value-wise with Drew Stanton under center. As for Andre Ellington, it’s tough to predict if not having Palmer under center is going to lead to more fantasy scoring or not. He could be focused on more, or the Cards could be passing in 4th-quarters… or, they could lean on the guy. Stay tuned. Looking for Week 3 Power Rankings?
