2015 fantasy football player spotlights

Dorial Green-Beckham

2/20/2015: If there is another Odell Beckham Jr. in this 2015 NFL Rookie Draft Class, it’s Missouri WR Dorial Green-Beckham. He is more often compared to Calvin Johnson, and size-wise that’s the plain truth. Odell Beckham is much smaller than both Calvin and Green-Beckham (known as DGB, for those wondering)… DGB measured in at 6-foot-5, 237 pounds at the NFL Scouting Combine. That is incredible, and he is about… Read Spotlight

Brandon Marshall (WR/CHI)

2/12/2015: Brandon Marshall is a tough player to own right now, as he clearly disappointed fantasy owners in 2014 (in a major way). Is he on the decline? Did he, and the Bears, just have a bad year in 2014? Honestly, I think a decline could very well Read Spotlight

Marshawn Lynch

2/10/2015: He turns 29 in April, and runs harder than any running back in the league. That usually spells early decline for running backs in the NFL, but Lynch is a unique player, so one could be a year early dumping him off prior to the beginning of the 2015 fantasy football season. Then again, there is some talk that he could retire this off-season, and while not likely, and could soon be an afterthought, that makes one question the odds of him playing past 2015. Selling now is just smart for many reasons, but only if you get RB1-type value. Will every owner pay that value? No way. Will every single league have at least one owner that will pay that value? No, not every league, so understand that selling high isn’t a lock of an option for everyone/every league. However, I venture to say at least a couple owners in most dynasty leagues have a “now” mentality, at least one that overpowers the “future” side of their team building and trading. Test the trade waters… the 1.01, Odell Beckham, Jimmy Graham and some, all these come to mind for quick ideas.

Calvin Johnson

2/10/2015: While there is a solid chance Calvin makes it through another season, or two, and doesn’t turn into an always-injured stud, but the guy feels like a…

ARTICLE: Crazy-Early 2015 Fantasy Football Mock Draft (Dynasty)

Hey Starters Nation:

Looking for an early 2015 Fantasy Football Mock Draft / Rankings heading into 2015? This is a dynasty mock draft, so keep in mind that players like Marshawn Lynch, Peyton Manning, Matt Forte, among others, are going to fall much, much further than they would in a early 2015 fantasy football yearly-league mock draft, but this mock draft should be rather useful to all fantasy leaguers, as for the most part things in redraft and dynasty can often times line-up rather well entering January. On that note, enjoy!

ARTICLE: Who are the top 20 Dynasty Fantasy Football Players for 2015?

smitty staff

Are you a dynasty fantasy football nut in need of some 2015 fantasy football content? Well, here is a writeup on the Top 20 Fantasy Football Dynasty Players heading into 2015 and beyond. Note, this is not a fantasy football mock draft, it is more of a value-based board, meaning you will find Aaron Rodgers and Andrew Luck a lot higher than you’d want to draft them, which ultimately means that I’m suggesting that their values are fantastic when faced off against their early 2015 Average Draft Positions (ADPs). So, again, this is NOT a mock draft, but in many cases will mirror where mocks have some of the players going in early mocks. Enjoy.View Top 20 Dynasty Players

SMITTY: This is great news for Calvin Johnson owners, as it sounds like the stud is near healed from that bad ankle injury. Get ready for a strong run of games by the top 3 fantasy WR. NEWS: Calvin Johnson will definitely return after the Lions Week 9 bye?

SMITTY: According to Tory Petry, a Detroit Lions reporter, Lions WR Calvin Johnson will “definitely” return to the field after the Lions’ Week 9 bye. As we recommend via our Buy-Low/Sell-High Article this week, consider selling high on Golden Tate now. It’s not that we don’t believe in him, he can still play well, but his value will never be higher than it is right now, and that kind of extra value can do a lot for your team if it’s in need of a spark! Looking for Week 9 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Calvin Johnson (questionable) is not expected to play in Week 8; Reggie Bush (ankle) now doubtful.

SMITTY: We have been hearing this for a while now, so we’re simply passing along the reinforcing info on this one whenever it shows its ugly face. His ankle injury clearly is bad and the logic here is that the team will rest both Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush (ankle) this week since the Lions are on a bye in Week 9 (giving both players two weeks to get healthier). Kick off for this game, in London, is at 9:30 AM ET, so stay close to both this news wire and your Smart Alerts for updates on both players. For now, get ready for a whole lot of Golden Tate and Joique Bell, especially with rookie TE Eric Ebron also set to miss Week 8! Looking for Week 8 Power Rankings?
