2015 fantasy football player spotlights

Brandon Marshall (WR/CHI)

2/12/2015: Brandon Marshall is a tough player to own right now, as he clearly disappointed fantasy owners in 2014 (in a major way). Is he on the decline? Did he, and the Bears, just have a bad year in 2014? Honestly, I think a decline could very well Read Spotlight

ARTICLE: Crazy-Early 2015 Fantasy Football Mock Draft (Dynasty)

Hey Starters Nation:

Looking for an early 2015 Fantasy Football Mock Draft / Rankings heading into 2015? This is a dynasty mock draft, so keep in mind that players like Marshawn Lynch, Peyton Manning, Matt Forte, among others, are going to fall much, much further than they would in a early 2015 fantasy football yearly-league mock draft, but this mock draft should be rather useful to all fantasy leaguers, as for the most part things in redraft and dynasty can often times line-up rather well entering January. On that note, enjoy!

NEWS: Brandon Marshall done for the year.

SMITTY: (update: Brandon Marshall did in fact suffer a collapsed lung) – This is horrible news for fantasy owners. The receiver has two fractured ribs and possibly a punctured lung. Given his dip in production this year, and age, it’s possible we never see the same Marshall again. Alshon Jeffery is a very strong WR1 for now and the future. Marquess Wilson will start for CHI the rest of the way and is a decent WR3 pickup. Looking for Week 14 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Brandon Marshall (ribs) knocked out of Week 14 and taken to hospital.

SMITTY: This injury didn’t look good when it happened, evidence by the fact that Marshall was taken to the hospital. Keep in mind that Miles Austin (kidney) and Justin Hunter (spleen) were both lost for the year on brutal hits kind of like this, so this needs to be monitored closely. Let’s hope there isn’t any sort of internal damage, like in the cases of Austin and Hunter, as that could end the receiver’s season. Stay tuned. Looking for Week 14 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) questionable for Week 14 tonight (Thursday Night Football).

SMITTY: While we hate a player being ‘questionable’ heading into the day of the game, which happens to be tonight’s Thursday night battle between the Bears and Cowboys, Jeffery appears to be on track to start in this one. Clearly stay on top of both our news wire here and our Smart Alerts, as we will blast out an update once we have it. We expect a lot of scoring in this game. Looking for Week 14 Power Rankings?

NEWS: Brandon Marshall (ankle) probable for Week 13.

SMITTY: We expect him to play, but check right up until kickoff on this one. He is absolutely a fantasy WR1 if going. He is a great buy-low candidate as well. That Chicago offense has struggled, but struggling or not, they will throw the ball a lot and both Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery are very underrated fantasy-wise heading into Weeks 13-17. Looking for Week 13 Power Rankings?

Brandon Marshall (ankle) is listed as probable for Week 13.
Marshall was limited in practice throughout the week. He’ll be a borderline WR1 for Thursday’s game against the Lions.

NEWS: Matt Forte and Alshon Jeffery disappoint in Week 10; Eddie Lacy, Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson Explode.

SMITTY: Aaron Rodgers was just unstoppable in this game, tossing for 315 yards and 6TDs in the Packers huge win over the Bears. Jordy Nelson pulled in six passes for 152 yards and 2TDs. Randall Cobb pulled in four passes for 72 yards and 1TD. Eddie Lacy once again was limited carry-wise (14-50/0TDs), but once again dominated in the receiving department (3-68/1TD). On the Bears side, Matt Forte was extremely disappointing, rushing 17 times for 54 yards and three catches for 27 yards, while Alshon Jeffery only pulled in six passes for 63 yards (but did have a team-high 12 targets). Brandon Marshall pulled in 8-112/1TD, but he left the game with an ankle injury and did not return. We will keep you posted on this as we hear more. Of all the Bears players, Matt Forte has the most ‘buy-low’ value, and given that Jeffery still saw a team-high 12 targets (and given Marshall is banged up), he too is a great buy-low.
