SMITTY: He was inactive last week but appears set to return against the Ravens. With Case Keenum/Thad Lewis as the top passers in Houston right now, it’s tough to know what you’re going to get out of anyone but Arian Foster in Week 16. AJ is a WR3 in most formats, though, and Hopkins can flirt with WR2-type numbers based on his talent alone, but again, with passers like Houston has, a dud week is just as likely as any sort of solid week. Horrible timing for Week 16. If Julio Jones sits (and he will be a Sunday morning call), make sure Harry Douglas (monitor his health) isn’t sitting on waivers, as he is a fine Week 16 plug-and-play if Jones sits. If Jones doesn’t sit, Douglas still has WR3 upside. Looking for Week 16 Power Rankings?
SMITTY: Earlier reports suggested that coach Smith expects Julio Jones (hip) to play the Saints in Week 16, but we have seen this too many times before, where a coach, or player, promises the world and then sits. Don’t count on having Julio this week if just to ensure you’re prepared for the worst-case scenario. Harry Douglas, one of our top pick-up recommendations of the week last week, should be owned in all formats, as he is almost a low-end WR2 whenever Julio is out. We will keep you posted once we know more on the stud’s status for this most-important week in fantasy. Looking for Week 16 Power Rankings?
SMITTY: We don’t expect Julio Jones to be active this week, which is a huge bummer for fantasy owners. That said, Harry Douglas is a respectable plug-and-play option, as his production will jump big-time with more targets. Make sure Douglas isn’t sitting on waivers. He is a great add this week. Of course, check back with us all the way up to kickoff, as this situation could change. Looking for Week 15 Power Rankings?
SMITTY: This is one of those true game-time calls, so you will have to be signed up for Smart Alerts and be checking this Breaking News Wire all morning on Sunday. This is a morning game on Sunday, so fantasy owners will at least have options should the receiver not play (Harry Douglas is a fine “grab and start” if Jones does in fact sit, and if you own Jones, grab Douglas now just in case). Roddy White will also see an uptick in targets should Julio sit, so he’d become a solid play this week as well, however, we like Douglas a bit more given Roddy (ankle) is still banged up. Looking for Week 15 Power Rankings?
SMITTY: Bobby Rainey is a fantasy RB1 against a Falcons rushing defense that gives up over 150 rushing yards per game and has surrendered 5TDs through the first two weeks. Get Roddy White out of your line-up, and consider Harry Douglas as a spot play this week if you’re in need. Even if you don’t own White, Douglas is a sneaky start if desperate at your fantasy WR3. Julio Jones owners better get ready for a big Week 3! Looking for Week 3 Power Rankings?
